Great expectations to improve access to information and to save resources have turned up together with the development of electronic journals in Internet. Both librarians and researchers are looking for the new possibilities in the field. The information specialists in different subject areas of a multidisciplinary university library made a survey in their respective subject areas looking for availability of journals relevant for research and education in Internet. The paper describes the results of the survey and discusses the consequences of the development of electronic journals in for acquisition and interlending strategies for university libraries.
