Social and Cultural Activities A varied programme of social and cultural events are planned for the delegates attending the 64th IFLA General Conference. These events are planned to give delegates a flavour of life in The Netherlands and for them to meet in informal surroundings. The time schedule is shown in the Preliminary Programme Summary. Officers Reception (By Invitation Only) Date: Saturday, August 15 Opening Exhibition Date: Sunday, August 16 Opening Party Date: Monday, August 17 Cultural Evening Date: Tuesday, August 18 Library Visits & Library Receptions Amsterdam Date: Thursday, August 20 Receptions at Libraries On the evening of Thursday, August 20 a number of libraries and other institutions will host a reception for all interested IFLA ’98 delegates and accompanying persons. Please choose one of the following categories and mark the corresponding box on the Registration Form. Public Libraries University and other Research Libraries Special Libraries, other libraries and library partners During the conference you will be able to exchange your open ticket for one of these categories of libraries for a voucher for the actual visit (upon availability). You can exchange this ticket at the appropriate desk in the registration area.
