Call for Papers - Genealogy and Local History Section

At the Conference of International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, IFLA in Berlin, 1-9 August 2003, the Genealogy and Local History Section is planning an open session with the theme:

Cooperation between archives, libraries and museums

We would like papers on the subject, both from institutions with cooperation already, and also from institutions with no cooperation.

In Norway, as an example, the Norwegian Museum Authority, the National Office for Research Documentation, Academic and Special Libraries in Norway and The Norwegian Directorate for Public Libraries will be one institution from next year.

We will be interested in having papers worldwide dealing with the subject from all points of view.

IMPORTANT DATES:

December 10, 2002
If you are interested in presenting a paper on the topic, please send your proposal (title and brief synopsis with your name, affiliation and address, preferred in a Word e-mail attachment, but fax or mail copies will be alright) by December 10, 2002 to:

Ruth Hedegaard
Vendsyssel historiske Museum
Historisk Arkiv
Museumsgade 2
9800 Hjørring, Denmark
Tel: +(45)96 241060
Fax: +(45)96 241051
E-mail: rhe@mail.dk

February 1, 2003
A decision on papers accepted for presentation will be made by February 1, 2003.

March 1, 2003
March 1 is the deadline for the full paper submission. Authors will be asked to send their completed paper in English or one of the four other recognized languages of IFLA, French, German, Russian or Spanish. This will allow time for translation and publication in the Conference Proceedings.

We sincerely hope that you will be interested, and that we will get response on the subject.

NOTE: Please note that all fees, including registration to the conference, travel, accommodation etc., are the responsibility of the authors of the accepted papers.
