INDEX CONFERENCE INFORMATION PROGRAMME AND PROCEEDINGS REGISTRATION AND HOTELS CONTACTS IN THIS DOCUMENT:		Call for Papers - Reading Section PROGRAMME: The Impact of the Internet on Reading and Libraries LOCATION: Berlin, Germany VENUE: Conference of International Federation of Library Associations, 1-9 August 2003 GOAL OF PROGRAMME: To bring together experts from several countries and regions to examine the ways in which the Internet has affected reading practices and culture. Papers should focus on such issues as whether reading has declined or changed in particular groups in the population; how the Internet has been used to encourage reading; how traditional publishing has been affected by the availability of electronic materials. FORMAT OF PAPERS: The intention is to include papers and case studies that provide guidance on how librarians can adjust their services and collections to take advantage of changing patterns in reading. Papers that focus on the underlying concepts and philosophy will be preferred to those that are purely descriptive. The Section wants papers from several different geographical areas.
