Theme: Societies' Information Toolkits:
the role of government information in education and development
Three to four presentations covering national and/or regional examples of government information services contributions to education and development will be selected. The presentations may be in the form of PowerPoint presentations and/or papers, however Power Point presentations, without accompanying speaking texts, will be not accepted as papers. (Please note that the interpreters can interpret only the texts of papers. They cannot reproduce
charts, graphics or power point presentation parts of papers.)
Presenters are expected to make their presentations in person and Spanish language presentations are encouraged, along with the use of Spanish and other official IFLA languages on slideshows and handouts.
Proposals for presentations, in the form of one page summaries
should be sent by January 31, 2004 to:

The proposals should include the name(s), contact information and institutional affiliation(s) of author(s); a summary of the content to be presented; and an indication of the language(s) in which the presentation and any handouts will be made.
All proposals will be evaluated by GIOPS officers who will inform applicants of the results by February 20, 2004.
Final versions of the presentations must be submitted to the above address by mid-March 2004.
