Call for Conference Papers Library and Information Science Journals
LIS Journal for continuing professional education
The IFLA Library and Information Science Journals Section invites Library and Information Journals users, authors, editors, LIS educators and publishers to submit paper proposals which provide perspective on how LIS Journals are contributing to the continuing professional development.
Theme: "LIS Journal for continuing professional education"
Proposals may focus on, but not limited to:
- LIS Journals as one of main tools for Long-Life Literacy and Professional Education
- LIS Journals as current encyclopedic source for young librarians
- LIS Journals as a forum for innovative ideas
- LIS Journals as a place for exchange of best practices
Please e-mail abstracts (maximum 500 words) by 18 January 2004 accompanied by the following information:
- Abstract
- Names of presenter(s)
- Position or title of presenter(s)
- Employer or affiliated institution
- Mailing address
- Telephone/fax numbers
- E-mail address
- Short biographical statement and resume
Notifications of abstracts acceptance will be issued by 8 February 2004
The full paper must be sent to the Chair or Secretary by 1 April 2004
Papers with abstracts should not exceed 10-12 pages, including references.
Notifications of papers acceptance will be sent by 15 April 2004
Submission of full/final papers by 1 May 2004
Not accepted papers for Open meeting might be published in the LISJ Section Newsletter June 2004 issue.
No financial support can be provided, but a special invitation might be sent to authors of accepted papers.
Papers must be submitted in one of the official IFLA languages (English, French, German, Russian,
Spanish).
Translations (at least abstracts) in Spanish will be greatly appreciated.
