Call for Papers:
Government Libraries
The IFLA Government Libraries Section Standing Committee invites Library and Information Science professionals to submit paper proposals dealing with innovation processes in government libraries and government information service units.
Government libraries are libraries which are part of and work for a body with a governing task and which have, in any way, a political responsibility or connection.
Theme:
Destination unknown? Piloting innovation in government libraries.
Proposals should focus on:
- How do government libraries survive in changing environments?
- Do or how do government libraries contribute to the innovation processes within their organisation?
- What barriers are there to innovation processes within government libraries?
- Case studies on innovation processes (with regard to organisation, resources, costumer relations, marketing, services...) in government libraries

Notifications of abstracts acceptance will be issued by 1 April 2005.
The deadline for submission of full papers is 15 May 2005.
Notes
Regrettably, no financial support can be provided, but a special invitation might be sent to authors of accepted papers.
Papers must be submitted in one of the official IFLA languages (English, French, German, Russian, Spanish). You may submit an abstract translated into an official IFLA language other than the language of the text you are submitting.
