Call for Papers

Acquisition and Collection Development with Serials and Other Continuing Resources Section

Theme:

"Evolving business models for hybrid collections"

IFLA Acquisitions & Collection Development and Serials and Other Continuing Resources Section arrange a joint programme for Seoul WLIC.

The working title is "Evolving business models for hybrid collections". There will be a four hour session and we would like to have papers among others from following isssues:
  • Business models for E-books
  • JISC business model study
  • Control of (print) serials in upcoming countries: what is produced and how do we get it
  • Society publishing: why are they not interested in moving roadblocks to becoming digital
  • E-publishing at academic institutions and open access repositories
  • Asian perspective
  • Effects of changing business models on management, funding and administration
  • Marketing of e-material

An abstract of no longer than 200 words should be submitted by February 1, 2005.

Papers must be original; written in English, or with an English translation attached; and between 3000 and 6000 words in length.

The submission deadline for papers is May 1, 2006.

Presentations should be made in English, and should not exceed 20 minutes in length.

Successful applicants will be sent a formal letter of invitation by March 1 2006.
